This week, I want to tell you all about something new I have been learning recently! I have been taking ice skating lessons at Mid-South Ice House! Here is a picture of me skating:
So far, I have learned how to skate backwards, on one foot, and in a circle. I am excited to learn how to spin soon! I love going to lessons, because I learn how to do something new each time I go. At first, I was not very confident on the ice, but as I have practiced each week, I have been becoming a better and better skater!
One exciting part about getting better at skating was buying my very own skates! This is what they look like:
I also get to wear special pants that come down over my skates and pink skate guards that turn purple when my skates have lots of ice on them. The skate guards protect the blades of the skates so that they don't get dull quickly or cut the ground:
I think it's important to keep learning new things, no matter if you're a kid or an adult. Learning new things and working to get better at them makes me happy! What things are you learning or practicing this summer?
